CHITTAGONG:  Rapid Action Batalion-7 detained three Yaba traders with 1,40,000 pieces of Yaba tablets from different places of the port city on Thursday night.

The detainees are Syed Kashem, 33, of Cox’s Bazar, Somrat Sarder, 23 of Munshganj, Rabiul Patwari, 22 of Comilla.  Amongst them, Somrat and Rabiul live in Dhaka’s South Keraniganj.

Earlier on Wednesday, a Yaba trader was held from Hill View area of the city and as per his statement, RAB men drove a nightlong operation at different places and recovered the Yaba consignment.

RAB-7 assistant director (Public Relations) Md Sohel Mahmud confirmed the matter to banglanews.

The market price of seized Yaba tablets is about TK 5.60 crore.

Of the recent consignment of Yaba tablets, it is the largest one, he added.
