DHAKA: The main Eid congregation of Eid-ul-Azha, the largest religious festival of the Muslims, was held at National Eidgah Ground in the city, seeking the Almighty’s mercy on the country.

Mufti Hazrat Hafez Moulana Abdullah of Islamic Foundation led the prayer followed by delivering sermon and offering munajat. The prayer began at 8:00am and ended at 8:50am.

Thousands of devotees including Members of the Cabinet, High Court and Supreme Court judges, political party leaders, foreign diplomats, businessmen, journalists and the civil society members gathered there along with ordinary citizens and offered prayers.

Women joined in the prayer with special arrangements; children were seen offering prayers with their guardians there.
