KISHOREGANJ: Country’s largest Eid congregation was held in historic Sholakia Eidgah in Kishoreganj.
Over one lakh devotees from different parts of the country gathered at the prayer ground on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha.
The Eid prayers, led by Maulana Farid Uddin Masud, began at 9:00 in the morning, reports banglanews.
Devotees started coming to the ground from early morning on the day. They participated in the 187th prayers of Eid-ul-Azha.
However, additional law enforces were deployed to ensure security to the devotees.
Close-circuit cameras and metal detectors were used at the entrances of the prayer ground, Kishoreganj Superintendent of Police Anwar Hossain told banglanews.
Kishoreganj Deputy Commissioner and also Sholakia Eidgah ground management committee president SM Alam told banglanews that devotees performed their prayers properly.
He also thanked the law enforcers.
However, over three lakh devotees attended the prayers in past Eid-ul-Fitr while the number of them has decreased in this Eid due to the additional rituals.
