PM mourns deaths by Japan volcanic eruptions

DHAKA: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina expressed profound shock and sadness at the loss of 50 more lives caused by sudden volcanic eruptions at Mount Ontake of Nagano Prefecture recently, said a press releases.

The premier sent a condolence massage to her Japanese counterpart Shinzo Abe in this regard.

External Publicity Wing (EPW) of Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued the release on Tuesday night signed by its director (media) Nripendra Chandra Debnath.

The release said Hasina, on behalf of Bangladesh people, conveyed sympathy to the bereaved families whose dear ones were either lost or were being suffered from injuries.

Wishing the ongoing rescue operations success, the premier expressed her readiness in providing assistance and cooperation in this regard.

On 27 September, Japan witnesses the deadliest loss by the Mount Ontake eruptions since World War II.
