DHAKA: A garments worker committed suicide hanging herself with ceiling in Mirpur sector no-12 area of the city on Wednesday.

The deceased was identified as Sumi, 18, daughter of Babu Pramanik, hail from Natore. She lived with her family in Mirpur.

Deceased mother, Shahnaz, said she saw through the window that Sumi was hanging with the ceiling of her room wrapping with a scarf around 3:30pm.

Later, Sumi was whisked off to the Dhaka Medical College (DMCH) where the attending doctors declared her dead around 5:30pm.
