DHAKA: A 35-kilomiter long traffic gridlock has appeared on the Dhaka-Tangil highway, stretching from Elenga of Sirajganj to Mirzapur of Sirajganj, since Saturday dawn.

The tailback caused immense sufferings to the thousands of people who are returning to Dhaka city after Eid-ul-Azha and Puja vacation.

Witnesses said that vehicular movement was very slow at night and it has come to halt completely since the morning.

On Friday night, the tailback began at 8:00pm, which started slowly easing after 12:00am on Saturday.
