Dhk-Ctg-Sylhet rail link restored

BRAHMANBARIA: Rail communications on Dhaka-Chittagong and Dhaka-Sylhet routes have been restored after over two hours following derailment of an inter-city train in the district.

The disruption was created as two compartments of passenger train Upakul Express derailed in Talshahar area in Brahmanbaria at 11:00am on Sunday.

The Chittagong-Dhaka-Sylhet rail link became normal at 1:30pm as Chittagong-bound train ‘Mahanagar Pravati’ left Bhairab Station using alternative track while Dhaka-bound ‘Kalni Express’ left Paghachang Station through down line after disconnecting two derailed compartments and ‘Subarna Express’ stranded left Brahmanbaria Station.

Brahmanbaria railway station assistant station manger Mainul Haque confirmed the matter to banglanews.
