NETROKONA: At least 50 people were injured in a clash between two villagers over supporting Brazil and Argentina friendly football match at Madan upazila of the district on Sunday morning.

Sources said some people of Makhna and Nayekpur village were watching football match between Brazil and Argentina on Saturday evening and, at one stage, they locked into an altercation.

Later around 8:30am Sunday, following the altercation, the villagers of the two villages locked into clash with locally made lethal weapons, leaving 50 people injured.

On information, police rushed to the spot and fired 12 round blank shots to bring the situation under control.
