PANCHAGARH: Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque on Wednesday said that the monthly allowance for the freedom fighters (FF) will be increased to Tk 10,000 from Tk 5,000.

A new list of freedom fighters will be made after scrutinizing.

The minister made the assertion while delivering speech in a view exchange meeting with freedom fighters after inaugurating Panchagarh District Freedom Fighter Complex Building.

Mozammel said those had contributed in the liberation war from March 26 to December 16, 1971, there mane will be included in the list. Later, a digital certificate and ID card will be provided to them.

The freedom fighters will be termed as ‘Bir Muktizoddha’ besides giving state honor.

He also asked to take initiatives against educational institutions those do not say national anthem and hoisting of national flag.

The minister said the government would establish houses for 25 percent freedom fighters in next year.

A new subject will be included in the BCS examination on liberation war of 100 marks.

Panchagarh deputy administrator M Salah Uddin presided over the meeting where Panchagarh-2 MP Advocate Nurul Islam Sujan, district freedom fighter Sangsad commander Mirza Abul Kalam Sujan were among others present.
