MUNSHIGANJ: A six-year-old ill-fated boy was killed by his father in Char Mukterpur area under Sadar upazila of the district.

The deceased was identified as Sawad Dewan, 6, son of the killer Julhas Dewan of the area.

Locals said Julhas Dewan took his son out of the house in the name of medical treatment on Tuesday.

He killed his son secretly by suffocating on the same day and told his family that the boy went missing.

However, sensing the matter suspicious, his wife and other family members informed police.

Later, police held and interrogated Julhas Dewan and found him guilty.

According to his statement, police recovered the body of Sawad from a puddle of Narayanganj on Wednesday.

Munshiganj Sadar Thana Officer-in-Charge (investigation) Yardous Hasan confirmed the matter to banglanews.
