DHAKA: The body of the war crimes convict Ghulam Azam will be handed over to the Jail Authorities by Thursday night.
Then, the authorities will decide whether the body will be sent to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) morgue for autopsy or not.
Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) Director Brig Gen Abdul Majid Bhuiyan, confirming the matter, told banglanews that the handover will be held according to the jail code.
Earlier, the 92-year-old former Jamaat-e-Islami chief breathed his last at 10:10pm in city’s BSMMU.
He was kept there on life support from the evening.
On the other hand the Jamaat-Shibir leaders and activists are gathering at hospital premises after the news of their former chief’s death spread.
