Ghulam Azam’s body handover in morning

DHAKA: The body of the war crimes convict Ghulam Azam will be handed over to his family on Friday morning.

His body is now kept at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) morgue for autopsy.

Sources told banglanews that after completing the autopsy of Ghulam Azam, the jail authorities will handover the body to his family.

Earlier, the authorotieis of the Dhaka Central Jail took the custody of the former Jamaat-e-Islami chief’s body.

Later, they sent the body to DMCH around 4:00am, sources added.

Earlier, the 92-year-old former Jamaat-e-Islami chief breathed his last at 10:10pm in city’s BSMMU.

He was kept there on life support there from the evening.

However, it is yet to be decided that where Ghulam Azam will be buried as five of his six sons are in abroad.

Confirming the matter, his son Brigadier General (retd) Abdullahil Aman Azmi said that his father had instructed him to lay him at Moghbazar family graveyard.
