TMC Sieges BD Students’ Passports for Money

BACK FROM MALAYSIA: Malaysian college TMC has been built through sucking the blood of the Bangladeshi students. The college keeps the passports of the students under locked attracting them by false allure of higher and standard education. The passports are not given back till the semester money is paid. Being compelled the students arrange jobs in illegal way for arranging money.

The college campus is located in 85 Jalan Lok view’s Menara Uchang building beside Viva shopping Mall of Kualalumpur.

Recently when visited the campus it was found that 85 percent students are from Bangladesh. Campus sources said, almost everyday about 50 to 60 students from Bangladesh are joining this college and are becoming victims of the fraudulent practice of TMC. As soon as they get admission they need to surrender their passports with visa.

While talking with Bangladeshi students it was learnt that after admission in the college they are given English learning courses. But that is only name sake. There is no attendance in the classes. Again the teachers are also disinterested to impart learning. The students of this college try for job in the name of studying. This earning of the students is the biggest source of money to running the college.

Some students, on condition of anonymity, alleged to Banglanews that after arrival in Malaysia the college authority takes away their passports. Some get their passports back after four months even after six months. After payment of semester fees they are given back the passports. Again they are to deposit the passports after expiry of visa. Then the students are to move without passports. They are to find out the path of earning money through illegal means.

It is found that the college is running with the money of the Bangladeshis. There are a few Nepalese and Srilankan students also who fall into the same trap. The students going from Bangladesh are spending around Taka 2.80 lakhs to Taka 3 lakhs each almost with no result.

The teachers think that the Bangladeshis will automatically do job so the matter of learning is insignificant.

TMC has opened a regional office in Dhaka making Bangladesh their main target. Even the regional office for India, Pakistan, Nepal, Srilanka and Afghan students is located at Dhaka. Sohel Masud, a Bangladeshi, has been working as the adviser and head of marketing of this regional office.

At the time of filing this report when Sohel Masud was contacted who is presently in Malaysia told Banglanews that we send some papers for approval from Dhaka so in that case this Dhaka office cannot be termed as regional office. We have several agents who collect the students. Even he did not mention the number of agents rather avoided the question.

Masud informed that he used to work at TMC as a lecturer of Business Administration. Now he is no more a lecturer, but work with the college.

When he was asked about his involvement with such low grade and dishonest college he replied that the agents know it better. In July of 2015 the college authority seek permission to upgrade it as a University, he informed.

After investigation it is learnt that agents get Taka 30 thousand to Taka 50 thousand for each student and Sohel Masud gets about Taka one lakh as commission.

While embarking for Malaysia the students are told that Sohel Masud would help them but practically he does not do so. Again his secretary Akib’s behavior is very hostile and he misbehaves with the students.

One Sabuj Ahmed(not real name) went to Malaysia six months back. He went there spending Taka 2.70 lakh though Universe Education and Business Consultancy at Lalmatia of the capital. Sabuj went there for studying hotel management. He was given the two months English learning course but in reality that course is nothing but farce.

Sabuj had become compelled to find job to meet his regular expenditure and semester fee. He informed that many do not join the next semester after getting back the passports. Because they do not want to give their hard earnings to the college. At this time the college authority keeps their passport to their own custody.

He told that without passports they face immense difficulties because police do not listen anything without passport. So they are to give bribe to the police. Through these hassles each student is to earn 7500 Ringit monthly before the ending of semester.

In this way the TMC and its agents are doing blood sucking business on Bangladeshi students taking the advantages of their weaknesses.
