TANGAIL: Two people were killed and two others injured in a road accident in Salla area at Kalihati upazila of the district on Monday afternoon.

Of the deceased, one was identified as Shirin Begum, 35, wife of Lutfor Rahman of the upazila.

Police sources said a Dhaka-bound passenger bus knocked a CNG-run auto-rickshaw in the area around 3:15pm, leaving Shirin dead on the spot and three others including the autorickshaw driver injured critically.

The injured were rushed to Tangail Medical College Hospital where on-duty doctor declared the auto-rickshaw driver dead.

Elenga Highway Police Outpost Sergeant Kamruzzaman Raz confirmed the matter to banglanews.
