RAB man on 5-day remand

NARAYANGANJ: A Narayanganj court on Tuesday palced a Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) member, Ruhul Amin, on a five-day in a gruesome Narayanganj seven-murder case.

Senior Judicial Magistrate KM Mohiuddin passed the remand order after investigation officer Mamunur Rashid, also officer-in-charge of detective branch (DB), produced him before the court seven-day remand plea.

Narayanganj District Lawyer Association President Advocate Sakhawat Hossain told banglanews that the remand was sought in a case filed by Bijoy Kumar Paul, son-in-law of deceased Chandan Sarkar.

A total of 11 RAB members were arrested in this connection till now.

Seven people, including Nazrul and Chandan, were abducted on April 27. The bodies of six were found floating in the river Shitalakkhy on April 30 and another body on May 1.
