BARISAL: Two minors drowned here in a water body at Nayani village of Charkaua union under Sadar upazila on Wednesday morning.

The deceased were identified as Rupa, 4, daughter of Bazlu Hawlader, resident of that village and her cousin Rafi, 3.

Sources told banglanews that the two minors, who went missing after going to play, were found floating at the water body adjacent to their home in the morning.

Later, victims’ family members rushed the two cousins to the Barisal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College and Hospital, sources added.

But, doctors pronounced Rafi ‘dead’ there while Rupa died during ongoing treatments at hospital’s children unit after half an hour.
