DHAKA: Road, Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader in a surprise visit on Sunday went to Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation (BRTC) Bhaban in city and ordered to issue show-cause notices to 28 staff of the corporation.

The show-cause notices were issued to explain why the officers were absent in BRTC Bhaban on Sunday during the second day of hartal, imposed by Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami.

The ministry’s senior information officer Abu Naser confirmed the matter to banglanews. 

He said that Obaidul Quader went to the BRTC Bhaban around 9:30am and found that some 28 officers from 240 were absent in the office.

Later, the minister ordered to issue a show-cause notice.
