GAZIPUR: War crimes convict Mohammad Kamaruzzaman has been brought to Central Jail around 2:00pm on Tuesday.
A reliable source in Central Jail confirmed the matter saying, “A condemned cell made prepared for him.”
Earlier a prison van carrying him left Kashimpur Jail at 12:00pm for Dhaka.
On Monday, the Supreme Court Appellate Division upheld the death sentence against Jamaat assistant secretary general Muhammad Kamaruzzaman.
He was sentenced to death in 3rd and 4th number charges—brought for the mass killing at Shohagpur village of Sherpur district and killing of Golam Mostafa.
On May 9, 2013, the ICT-2, led-by Justice Obaidul Hassan, awarded capital punishment to the Jamaat assistant secretary general for his crimes against humanity during country’s Liberation War in 1971.
