Siraj Kosai, 2 others indicted

DHAKA: International Crimes Tribunal (ICT)-1 framed charge against Sheikh Siraj Master alias Siraj Kosai, Abdul Latif Talukder and Khan Akram of Bagerhat bringing allegations of war crimes in Liberation War-1971.

The tribunal led by Justice Enayetur Rahim fixed December 2 for starting opening statement.

Some 68 people will submit deposition against the trio, who joined the Razakar Bahini in 1971 and committed killings, mass killings, rape, looting, arson and forced conversions.

Among the eight charges, four are against Sirajul for the killing about 666 people, two against the three for the killing of 47 people and two against Akram and Abdul Latif for the forced conversion of 200 Hindus to Islam and killing of a person.
