DHAKA: Two unidentified persons were killed when a speedy private car ran over them in front of Scholastica School in Uttra area of the city on Friday afternoon.

Inspector (investigation) Shahidul Islam Mollah of Airport Thana confirmed the matter to banglanews.

Shahidul Islam said, a pick-up van faced a mechanical fault; its driver and helper were repairing the engine parking the vehicle on a side of the road in front of the school.

All of sudden and a speedy private car hit the pick-up van from behind, killing the two on the spot, the inspector added.

Police seized the car while its driver managed to escape the scene.    

Raids were underway to nab the culprit, Shahidul added.
