DHAKA: A college student allegedly committed suicide by jumping from the rooftop of a nine-storey under-construction building in city’s Mirpur area on Sunday.

The deceased was identified as Monirul Islam Rinku, 17, son of Nazrul Islam and a student of class (XII) of Mohammadpur Al-Helal School and College.

The reason behind his alleged suicide could not be known immediately.

However, the body was sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.

Mirpur Thana Sub-Inspector Suruz Uddin confirmed the matter to banglanews.
