DHAKA: Indian Border Security Force (BSF) members detained a Bangladeshi citizen from the Beurjhari frontier area under Baliadangi upazila Sunday night.

The detainee was identified as Muktarul Islam, 20, son of one Lofiz Uddin of the area.

BGB-30 sources said Boro Billah BSF camp personnel picked up Muktarul from the frontier area around 7:30pm on charge of entering India illegally.

However, the BGB personnel sent a letter to Boro Billah BSF camp requesting for a flag meeting to get back the Bangladeshi national.

Operation Officer of BGB Thakurgaon sector Major ATM Nazmul Huda confirmed the matter to banglanews.
