24-hr transport strike begins Sunday in Ctg

CHITTAGONG: Bangladesh Road Transport Workers Federation has called a 24-hour transport strike from Sunday morning in greater Chittagong.

Federation’s eastern unit president Mrinal Chowdhury called the strike to materialize its 5-point demands including stopping the harassment of police on the roads.

He also said that they gave an ultimatum to the administration to consider their demands around one month ago.

None gave any attention to the matter, Mrinal added, so, we have called the strike.

Only the private cars will be out of the purview of this strike, he said.
