DHAKA: Country’s leading media group East West Media Group Limited (EWMGL) has begun digitalization of its press unit in a bid to boost the customer service.
The installations of SAP software at its press unit will begin on Monday, said the EWMGL officials at EWMGL conference room in city’s Bashundhara Residential Area on Saturday.
Higher officials both from EWMGL Press Unit and Exatech Solutions Limited arranged the program to fix work policy on the installation.
Upon completion of the installation, the press unit will become fully digitalized. It will enable automatic functioning of the unit’s different departments including human resources, finance, production, sales, distribution and product quality.
Exzatech Solutions Limited is providing technological support to EWMGL on the installation of SAP software.
Official concerned said the unit will go online completely by February 16, 2015.
Syed Farhad Ali Reza, head of press at EWMGL’s press unit, said EWMGL’s media wing will gradually become a paperless office through the installation of the (SAP) software.
The total system will come under a chain of command and any mistake will be identified easily, said Reza adding, it will ensure transparency and accountability as well as increase customer service.
Addressing the function, Exzatech director Rajib Imran said Bashundhara Group (BG), the parent company of EWMGL, has planned to go online for all of its internal activities by 2017.
Digitalization is underway at BG; paperless and technology friendly office will be setup to ensure the customer service, he added.
EWMGL press wing assistant general manager (account and finance) SM Mehedi Hasan, head of department (sales and marketing) Mujibur Rahman, manager (store) Zahidur Rahman, among others, attended the program.
SAP software has been used successfully at several companies of BG including Meghna Cement Mills Limited and Bashundhara LP Gas Limited since 2010 and Bashundhara Industrial Complex Limited and Sundarban Industrial Complex Limited since 2013.
