DHAKA: The government is likely to introduce digital method in preparing and distributing the question papers for next primary teachers’ recruitment test, said authorities concerned.
The Directorate of Primary Education (DPE) has already formed a committee comprised of technology experts in this regard. A “digital question bank” will be created to select the questions for the recruitment test.
The move came following question paper leaks in last several years. The recruitment tests were held in two phases in 2013 due to leakage.
DPE director general Alamgir Hosssain told banglanews that a ‘question bank’ will be setup centrally using digital method.
Different sets of questions will be created using ‘sudden choice’ method and those will be printed by high power printers shortly before the tests begin under the supervision of district administrators, he added.
Then the questions will be distributed to the test centers.
A technical committee has been formed on the agenda of question paper preparation and distribution using digital method. It will develop demo software for preparing and printing questions.
Led by Professor Leiakat Ali, head of Institute for Information and Communication Technology (IICT) of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology, the other committee-members are the representatives from Ministry of Primary and Mass Education (MoPME), Directorate of Primary Education (DPE), Dhaka University, and Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC).
Implementation of question paper preparation and distribution in digital method is possible after getting policy approval from government.
The digital method has also setbacks. Admitting the challenges, the DPE DG cited load-shedding, printing mistake, quality of questions, and question leak on online, are among those shortcomings.
