BOGRA: At least two persons were killed and two other injured in a road crash in Sujabad Dahapara area under Shahjahanpur upazila of the district early Sunday.

The deceased were identified as Ziaur Rahman, 32, a CNG-run autorickshaw driver and its passenger Jagadish Kumar Kundu, 60.

Jagadish Kumar Kundu died on the spot as the CNG-run autorickshaw collided head-on with a truck at the area around 6:45am.

The driver Ziaur Rahman and two other passengers were rescued and rushed to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital in Bogra.

After admitting to the hospital, the driver succumbed to his injuries.

However, the driver and helper of the truck managed to escape the scene. Later, the agitated locals set fire on the vehicle (Joypurhat-D-11-0096).

Confirming the matter, Shahjahanpur Thana Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mahmudur Rahman said that later, on information, the fire fighters doused the flame.
