DHAKA: An opening 158-run partnership propelled Bangladesh to set a 252-run target for Zimbabwe in the second One Day International (ODI) of five-match Bashundhara Cement ODI series in Chittagong Sunday afternoon .

Bangladesh scored 251 runs losing seven wickets in the match at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in the port city.

Earlier in the day, Bangladesh captain Mashrafe Mortaza won the toss and elected to bat first in the day/night match.

Openers Tamim Iqbal and Anamul Haque built a solid ground scoring 76 runs off 98 balls and 80 off 110 balls respectively. But it did not work due to failure of the middle and lower order batsmen.

Mushfiqur Rahim earned 27 runs while Mominul Haque did 33, however.

Tamim was the victim of run out at first when Bangladesh’s score was 158. Shortly after, Anamul walked to the pavilion after being caught by Sibanda. Panyangara bagged the vital wicket.

Since then the visitors were taking wickets one after another.

Both heroes of the 1st ODI - al-rounder Shakib Al Hasan and Sabbir Rahman failed to contribute to the Sunday’s scoreboard.

Zimbabwe’s T Panyangara and T Kamungozi picked up two wickets each while TL Chatara took one.
