DHAKA: Five officials, including deputy general manager (DGM) of national flag carrier Biman Bangladesh Airlines, confessed their guilt over the allegation of gold smuggling.

They gave confessional statement when they were produced before Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court on Sunday after the four-day remand.

Earlier on November 19, the Detective Branch of police (DB) detained DGM Imdad Hossain, captain Shahid, manager Tozammel Haq, money exchange trader Harun and contractor Polash.

After taking statement from the arrestees, they were sent to the Jail.
