KHULNA: A woman along with her daughter was killed in a road accident on Daulatpur-Sahapur road of Dumuria upazila of the district on Wednesday afternoon.

The deceased were identified as Tania, 26, resident of Amvita Uchu Mati area of the upazila and her daughter Oishi, 6.

Sources told banglanews that an oil-laden truck knocked them down around 4:30pm while they were paying fare to a local human hauler locally known as ‘Nasiman’, leaving them dead on the spot.

Dumuria Thana Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mashiur Rahman said that police, later, nabbed the driver and seized the truck from Thukra Bazar area.

However, the agitated locals blockaded the road and demonstrated after the accident.
