COMILLA: Rail communications of Chittagong with Dhaka and Sylhet have remained suspended since Wednesday evening following a derailment of a goods-laden train at Daulatpur in the district.

Sources told banglanews that a wagon of the Dhaka-bound train from Chittagong veered off the tracks in Daulatpur area around 6:10pm. The train services remained halted, said a spot account of the incident.

Comilla Railway assistant engineer Mostafizur Rahman said that a relief train has already started to salvage the derailed wagon.
