2 DB police men sacked in Chittagong

CHITTAGONG: The authorities on Thursday sacked two members of Detective Branch (DB) of police for their involvement in giving chance to some arrestees to make phone calls illegally from police station in the district.

The suspended two DB personnel are Khorshed Alam and M Ayub.

Deputy Commissioner (Headquarters) Masud-ul-Hasan of Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) said, “Khorshed and Ayub were suspended for their connection with irregularities.”

Earlier on Sunday, five people, including a Pakistani citizen, were arrested from Hotel Lords in GEC intersection of Khulsi Thana.

On Monday, a court granted a five-day remand for the five arrestees after police produced them before the court with a 15-day remand plea.

Later on Tuesday, the arrestees were sent to Dhaka to the Joint Interrogation Cell formed by home affairs ministry.
