DHAKA: Bangladesh Railway Hospital in city’s Kamlapur area, specific for railway staff and their relatives, will provide medical services to all patients.
The decision of transforming the Railway hospital to a general hospital will be finalized after getting a nod from prime minister Sheikh Hasina.
Health minister Mohammed Nasim and rail minister Mazibul Hoque disclosed the matter during their visit to the hospital on Saturday.
Nasim said that he has talked to the rail minister on the possibility of transforming it a general hospital so that common people can get medical services.
The minister has agreed, Nasim added, it will now be finalized after the discussion from the premier.
The railway staff and their relatives will also get modern treatment if we can make the hospital well-equipped, the health minister commented.
Rail minister Mazibul Haque said that following the directives of the prime minister they will provide medical services to people of all walks of life, including the railway staff and their relatives.
Health secretary Syed Manzurul Islam, health directorate director general professor Deen Mohammad Nurul Haque and railway hospital officials, among others, were present during the hospital visit.
