DHAKA: Law enforcement agencies detained five carjackers and six muggers in separate drives across the city throughout Wednesday night.

Detective Branch of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) nabbed five members of a carjacking gang from different places of the city and seized two private cars from their possession.

DMP deputy-commissioner Saidur Rahman confirmed the matter to banglanews on the morning.

DB will hold a press conference regarding the detention and seizure at DMP Media Centre in the city’s Minto Road at 11:30am.

On the other hand, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) nabbed six members of a mugging gang conducting raids at different places of the city.

RAB also seized a private car, two foreign-made pistols, several rounds of bullets, machete from their possession.

RAB Headquarters’ media wing assistant director Major Maksudul Alam confirmed the matter to banglanews.
