DHAKA: The government on Sunday withdrew deputy commissioners (DC) from five districts.

The districts are Bandarban, Khagrachari, Bagerhat, Joypurhat and Khulna.

Sources told banglanews that public administration ministry issued a letter in the same day by posting the DCs to different ministries and a division.

However, Bandarban’s former DC KM Tariqul Islam has been shifted to disaster management and relief ministry, Khagrachari former DC M Masud Karim to expatriates' welfare and overseas employment ministry, Bagerhat former DC M Shukur Ali to environment and forest ministry and Joypurhat former DC Mohammad Yasin to liberation war affairs ministry.

On the other hand, Khulna former DC Anis Mahmud has been transferred as the deputy secretary to economic relations division.
