DHAKA: Authorities halted ferry services at Daulatdia-Paturia and Mawa-Kawrakandi water ways on the River Padma due to poor visibility caused by dense fog since early Tuesday.

Our Goalanda Correspondent reports: plying of all water vessels came to a halt at 12:30am on the day.

Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) Daulatdia office manger Shafiqul Islam confirmed the matter to banglanews.

Ferry service will become normal after visibility returns, Shafiqul added.

Due to the disruption of the ferry services, hundreds of vehicles were stranded on both sides of the routes creating a long tailback.

Heavy fog has been disrupting ferry services for last couple of days.
