DEMU train on Tongi-Kamalapur route

GAZIPUR: Railway Minister Muzibul Haque on Tuesday inaugurated the DEMU (Diesel Multiple Unit) train services ohn Dhaka-Tongi route at Tongi Station.

The minister inaugurated the train service at 7:30am where director general of Bangladesh Railway Tofazzal Ahmed, Secretary Munsur Ali and Railway DIG Mollick Fakhrul Islam and other high ups were among others present.

Kamalapur Station Master A Majid told banglanews that two DEMU trains will ply for twice a day; one will leave Kamalapur at 5:25am and reach at Tongi at 6:10am.

The other train will leave Tongi at 7:40am and reach at Kamalapur at 8:35am.

Around 600 passengers would travel at a time in the six-compartment train, he added.
