MUNSHIGANJ: Ferry services on Mawa-Kawrakandi waterways in the River Padma resumed on Saturday morning after a 5-hour suspension due to blurred visibility caused by dense fog.
Sources of Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) Mawa office said the ferries began plying around 9:00am.
Earlier, authorities concerned suspended the services around 4:00am after marking lights in the river became invisible due to dense fog.
Tailback, caused by the suspension, on the both side of the river began decreasing.
Due to the service disruption, several hundreds of vehicles got stranded on both sides of the routes, creating a long tailback.
Low visibility caused by thick fog has been hampering the ferry services on Mawa-Kawrakandi and Daulatdia-Paturia waterways on the River Padma for several days.
