NATORE: A youth was crushed under train wheels near Naldanga Rail Station at 8:30am Saturday.

The deceased was identified as Gopen Ghosh, 30, son of one Gopal Ghosh, residing in Kumudbati village of Naldanga upazila.

Quoting locals, Naldanga Thana Officer-in-Charge (OC) Aslam Uddin said Saidpur-bound train Titumir Express, started from Rajshahi, crushed Gopen down at the station adjacent area when he tried to cross the rail line.

Regarding the matter, Natore Rail Station’s assistant master Ashok Kumar Chakrabarty said police of Santahar GRP Thana, on information, rushed to the spot. After recovering the body they sent it to Natore Adhunik Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy, he added.
