DHAKA: Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) approved charge sheet against four people, including Jatiya Party (JP) ex-MP Abul Kashem and his wife Sufia Kashem, over corruption in Hatirjheel land acquisition.
The commission approved this on Monday and ACC deputy director Abdus Sattar, also the investigation officer of the allegation, will submit the charge sheet in the court soon.
Two other accused are additional secretary of Gyanendra Nath Sarkar of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources and additional secretary Mokhlesur Rahman of the Election Commission (EC).
Earlier on December in 2013, ACC officer Jatan Kumar Roy (LPR) filed the case in this regard.
ACC report said Mokhlesur and Gyanendra managed compensation showing fake ownership of 0.65 acres land in Tejkunipara area in city’s Hatirjheel in 2016. They were the then additional divisional commissioner of Dhaka and additional deputy commissioner of Dhaka respectively.
