HABIGANJ: Six people, including a woman and her daughter, were killed and 10 others injured critically in a road accident on Dhaka-Sylhet highway in Sutang area of the district on Tuesday morning.

Of the deceased, four were identified Nobon Bibi, 40, wife of Haris of Baniachang upazila, her daughter Ambia Khatun, 20, Ahmadul Haque of Moulvibazar sadar, 60, and Yusuf Ali, 50, of Sreemangal Upazila.

Witnesses said a truck hit a CNG-run auto-rickshaw in the area on Dhaka-Sylhet highway at 7:30am, leaving six passengers of the auto-rickshaw dead and injured others.

Confirming the matter, Shayestaganj thana officer-in-charge Yasinul Haque told banglanews that the injured were sent to Habiganj Sadar Adhunik Hospital.
