GOPALGANJ: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina paid rich tributes to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, placing floral wreaths at his tomb in Tungipara on Saturday.
A helicopter, carrying the premier, landed there around 12:00pm.
After placing the wreath, Hasina offered fateha and prayers seeking blessings to the departed soul of Bangabandhu.
The premier was accompanied by her younger sister Sheikh Rehana, her cousin Sheikh Helal Uddin, former Civil Aviation and Tourism minister Faruk Khan, Awami League’s religion affairs secretary Sheikh M Abdullah and the district AL leaders.
Premier’s assignment officer Gazi Hafizur Rahman confirmed the matter to banglanews.
Hasina will have a lunch at Bangabandhu Mausoleum Complex followed by offering zohr prayer and taking rest awhile there.
Later, the premier will be flown to Dhaka at 3:00am.
