DHAKA: The cyber war began soon after Indian Border Security Forces (BSF) had killed Bangladeshi people including Felani, cattle traders and Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) personnel in between 2011-12.
Black Hat hackers of Bangladesh, along with Bangladesh Cyber Army, hacked about 20,000 websites of various ministries, companies and politicians of India protesting the killings.
During the month-long cyber war, Indian hackers also hacked around 800 Bangladeshi websites. However, witnessing the expertise and speed of Bangladeshi hackers, the Indian hackers called for ceasefire and apologized in public.
With a pledge to secure cyber space of Bangladesh, Black Hat hackers started their journey in February 2012 and participated in every cyber war under the leadership of BD Xtor, Frances Allen, Orion Hunter and Luge Racer.
“We love Bangladesh. We won’t endure any injustice to our motherland. We are always prepared for war and ready to hack 10 websites if our one site is hacked,” said spokesperson of the hacking team.
In an exclusive interview, Rajjohin Rajputro, a member of Black Hats hackers told banglanews, “Patriotism works behind our hacking. We hack important and valuable websites of the countries responding to their any action against Bangladesh.”
In the mid of 2014, Indian, Australian and England cricket boards proposed for canceling test status of the lower ranked countries including Bangladesh.
Bangladeshi hackers condemned the decision immediately after the proposals and later hacked high profile websites of those three countries.
Black Hat hacker also hacked some important sites of Myanmar after its border force killed BGB members. However, Myanmar hackers did not start any cyber war as they know about incapability.
When Narendra Modi declared to oust Bangladeshis from West Bengal in 2014, Black Hat hackers attacked the websites of political organizations of India in protest.
“Hacking is not our profession, it is a hobby. It is the expression of our patriotism and a powerful weapon to fight injustice,” added hacker Rajputro.
Recently, in a mission named “OP_ISRAEL, Bangladeshi cyber-people hacked 200 high profile websites of well-secured Israel protesting the killings of children in Gaza of Palestine.
Black Hat hackers do not attack any Bangladeshi website rather they train the administrators of websites at free of cost. They train about the prevention of hacking, operating fan page and securing websites.
Meanwhile, before hacking websites of other countries, Black Hat crew members ensure security of important websites of Bangladesh.
Along with hacking and fighting for country, these hackers have opened a Facebook group named Black Opps where they report against porn sites and fake accounts.
However, they expressed distress saying Bangladesh government is not paying any attention to them while England, Russia and other countries allocate budget for their hackers.
Bangladeshi hackers are of world-class and develop software for other countries. They are demanding jobs in government and non-government companies.
