Railway sues cargo lorry driver

DHAKA: Bangladesh Railway authorities on Monday sued the driver of cargo lorry that killed at least six people after it hit a train in city’s Kamalapur area.

Railway senior deputy assistant engineer Abdul Matin Mandal filed the case with Government Railway Police (GRP) Kamalapur Thana in the afternoon.

Kamalapur GRP Thana Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abdul Majid said the case was filed for driving rashly, carelessly and damaging government property.

He added: “The railway official has filed the case around 4:00pm.”
