HABIGANJ: Sylhet City Corporation mayor Ariful Haq Chowdhury surrendered at a Habiganj court on Tuesday morning in former Finance Minister Shah AMS Kibria murder case.
Sources told banglanews that he surrendered before the Habiganj Senior Judicial Magistrate Rokeya Akter’s Court around 11:40am.
Earlier the court issued an arrest warrant against 11 people, including him on December 21. BNP leader Harris Chowdhury and Habiganj Municipality Mayor GK Gaus, among others are also in the list of wanted.
On January 27, 2005, four people, including Kibria, were killed in a grenade attack while addressing a rally in Habiganj.
