DHAKA: The Maitree Train service on Dhaka-Kolkata route is now open for thrice a week after the third train has been introduced Monday adding two more trips.

Railway Minister Mujibul Haque inaugurated the train at Dhaka Cantonment Rail Station around 8:00am.

The minister said from now on a total of three trains will go to Kolkata on Fridays, Mondays and Wednesdays and will return Dhaka on Saturdays, Sundays and Tuesdays.

While 41 other projects are under process for the development of railway sector, he added.

Mujibul Haque claimed that a party chief has been working for the development of the country while another party chief is destroying it with the help of anti-Liberation War power.

He also said BNP will also be failed this time like the January 5 national election last year and the people will win again.
