‘Pepper spray used to kill Khaleda’

DHAKA: Supreme Court Bar Association President Khandaker Mahbub Hossain, also adviser to BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia, on Tuesday claimed that police deliberately used pepper spray to “kill” their party chief.

The senior lawyer of the Supreme Court made the observation in a press conference held at Supreme Court Bar Association auditorium.

He said, “Police might have used something poisonous in the pepper spray on Monday to make Khaleda’s life risky and since then she has been suffering from suffocation.”

Mentioning Khaleda kept under the treatment of a medical board, Mahbub demanded an immediate release of her from confinement.

BNP chief’s adviser further claimed that the incumbent government is frightened in spite of hundreds of police and Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) personnel.

Supreme Court lawyers’ association secretary Advocate Mahbub Uddin Khokon and other BNP-Jammat-e-Islami affiliated lawyers were present at the conference.
