DHAKA: Three people were killed and two others injured as a passenger bus crushed into a CNG-run auto-rickshaw in North Tower area of city’s Uttara on Tuesday evening.
The deceased were identified as Hossain Uddin, 30, production manager of a chocolate factory in Narail district, Pradip Kumar Majumder, 40, maintenance manager of the organization, hail from Sirajganj and CNG driver Nazrul Islam, 32.
Uttara Zone DC Iqbal Hosaain confirmed the matter to banglanews.
He said the Gazipur-bound bus ‘Supravat Paribahan’ knocked the CNG-run auto-rickshaw from behind in the area around 6:30pm, leaving three people dead and two others injured.
The injured were rushed to local hospital, he added.
Head of Sales of the chocolate factory Abdul Hamid told banglanews that, being informed, he rushed to the spot and identified them.
Police said the bodies were kept at Uttara West Thana and later they would be sent to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital for autopsy.
