DHAKA: Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) personnel are patrolling the city streets at night to avert untoward situation due to the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) called ongoing nationwide blockade.
The BGB members were deployed again in the city from 6:00pm on Tuesday.
BGB headquarters public relations officer (PRO) Mohammad Mohsin Reza told banglanews that the BGB members were redeployed in city to assist law enforcing agencies.
They will be on duty till 6:00am on Wednesday, he added.
However, Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) banned rallies in the city from January 4 following the political unrest regarding the programs of ruling Awami League and opposition Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) on January 5.
The government deployed BGB members in city at nights from January 4. As continuation, the border guard members will patrol the city streets.
