DHAKA: Newly appointed director general of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) Benazir Ahmed assured of giving security in plying of all kinds of passenger bus, goods-laden trucks during ongoing blockade, enforced by BNP-led 20-party alliance.

He made the statement while talking to reporters after observing the security measures at the Biswa Ijtema ground of Tongi on Thursday.

Benazir Ahmed said RAB battalion members will provide required security in plying all kinds of vehicles, including passenger bus, goods-laden trucks, amid ongoing blockade.

RAB has taken tight security measures in and around the Biswa Ijtema ground.  Besides, RAB’s helicopter will also patrol on airway to ensure security of devotees, the RAB DG added.

He went on saying that the authorities concerned will provide pure drinking water and health services for the devotees.
