RAJSHAHI: Two police men including a Sub-Inspector (SI) were closed to the police line for assaulting journalists in front of Rajshahi Government College on Friday morning.

Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ) member Zabid Apu told banglanews that journalists went to collect news after getting information of a procession in support of blockade in the area at around 10:30am.

“But, SI SM Zahangir and Constable Bulbul gave attacked the journalists after failing to detain Chhatra Dal pickets,” he added.

They were closed to police line when journalists filed written complaint to Rajshahi Metropolitan Police (RMP) commissioner in this connection, he added.

Officer-in-Charge of Boalia Model Thana Nur Hossain Khandaker expressed his sorrows to journalists in this regard.
